Event description

Description

Robert will be reading two of Morrison's detective stories. Arthur Morrison is mostly remembered today not for his plays, short stories and detective novels, but for two of his books that describe the horrors of living in the East London slums: A Child of the Jago (1892) and Tales of Mean Streets (1894).

Arthur Morrison lived in Salcombe House, in Loughton High Road and at High Beach, which is where he is buried. The venue, Loughton Baptist Church is very near to where he lived in Salcombe House, although the house is now a block of retirement flats.

Robert is a professional award winning actor and playwright and he will be reading two of Morrison's detective stories as only he can.

Tickets:also sold on the door.
