In August 2016 Associate Professor Andy Unger and Associate Professor Chris Shepherd had the opportunity to visit Professor Zhengda Miao in Harbin to discuss the development of a new module on Chinese Business Law which he has kindly agreed to support. The module will be offered from 2017-2018 as an option on the LLM International Commercial Law and includes the study of mandarin and a study visit to China. The visit to Harbin Normal University was generously sponsored by the Confucius Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Prof Miao’s visit is part of that project and provides any opportunity to work with staff and students at LSBU as well as giving a public lecture on recent developments within the Legal System of the People’s Republic of China.
This lecture will offer an overview of current developments within the Chinese Legal System. It is open to anyone with an interest in the Chinese legal system, particularly lawyers, academics and students.
