The session will cover
Working life for creative practitioners, producers and cultural workers is often challenging, tiring and underpaid. Caught in the middle of demands from funders, audiences, collaborators and our own high expectations, we can often forget to look after our most important resource: ourselves.
How can we find the inner resources needed to respond to the complex demands placed on us? How can we better take care of ourselves?
Mindfulness and meditation offer practical skills and techniques for self-care that can radically transform our working lives: helping us shift to a more empowered position in relation to those demands and how we respond to them.
Artist, anthropologist and meditation teacher, Daniel Baker from interdisciplinary studio Social Material, will present a series of practical mindfulness techniques as tools for self-care in the creative industries
