About this event

The role of a Business Analyst in any organisation can vary, and the technical skills will adapt based on the phase of the project, the approaches and methodologies used.

What is commonplace is core behaviours, attitudes and approaches that are fundamental for a BA to make an impact the organisation needs them to make.

Join Carl and Sarah in this first session to discuss what makes up a BA, and how they can use their awesome skills to make the positive impact on how organisations deliver change effectively.

Carl is joined by Sarah O'Neil Sarah has recently joined Hiscox as a BA having made a huge impact at her previous employer, MPS. Sarah does not just confine her BA approach to her job, she brings it to everything she does. For example, following undertaking some business analysis work, she has recently taken on the role of a Lead Ambassador at Getaway Girls, a charity based in Leeds. Whenever in the presence of Sarah you know she thrives in and loves the BA profession, and will share her experience and passion for her career during the session.

The session is hosted by Carl Wrigley, Principal Consultant at Herd Consulting, and follows his publication "The Positive BA" in the Q2 edition of the BA Digest

Carl has worked in a variety of businesses, and has been a BA for 15 years. His most recent interest is how to help elevate BAs to become "Trusted Advisors" and the article was created out of personal experiences, which he will share in the session.

But this session will be much more than Carl and Sarah discussing their personal views. Whilst they will lead with examples, views and thoughts, they will actively seek opinions, views and questions from those who join and collaborate.

This is a unique opportunity to discuss the "core of BAs" and look at how to create a movement of elevating the practice, by focussing on what makes a BA, and how to make that impact.
