Doctoral students at the University of Wolverhampton are spread far and wide across the country, and in fact the world. The Doctoral College Postgraduate Research Residential Week aims to bring doctoral students together whether they live in Wolverhampton or Wollongong for a week of educational and social events. The week aims to provide postgraduate research with the opportunity to develop their research skills and knowledge development as well as their networks with other researchers and their community of practice.
There will be five themed day
Exploring aspects of the doctorate (considering skills development, field research, practice led research, making impact and research funding)
Doctoral careers ( including CV workshops, interview techniques, tips for teaching, advice from early career researchers)
Making the most of your PhD (including getting the most from supervision, timely completion, preparing for viva, presentations skills)
Athena SWAN Day (Led by Karen Bill and Stephen Greenfield)
International Students’ Day (including UKVI matters, Academic English, UK doctoral expectations to name a few)

This event is free but researchers will be expected to book and fund the cost of their accommodation. There are many hotels and B&Bs in or around the University of Wolverhampton, below are few options. You may wish to research your own accomodation through travel sites.
