When & Where
I am a life, health and well-being coach. I have been working with women & men, their health, happiness and effectiveness for several decades. Life is something I decided to take control of in my early youth, and have been learning and practicing and growing ever since.
Health and wellbeing have been a fundamental interest throughout my working life - I trained and qualified as a nurse, a health visitor, in Health Education, Nutrition and have been involved in a great deal of health & psychology related research - it is my passion to help individuals to take charge of their own health - which they can do, rather than to become sick and to find that quality of life and good health options are a much greater struggle to achieve and to enjoy.
From my childhood I saw the impact of negative thinking, actions and reactions. I learned how it was possible for individuals to keep living the events - long past and saw how living in the past as though it were today impacted and ruined health, relationships, career possibilities - it ruined my mother's experience of her life and had significant impact on my brother, sister and me. I also knew that none of this was necessary. That period of my life gave me my raison d'etre.
My mother was not alone in her historical focus of her everyday life. I have worked with thousands of individuals who struggle with the habits they learned or merely picked up ages ago. Those habits, if they ever served those individual's well, have long stopped being of any benefit and over time became detrimental in so many ways. Some people are not aware of what the problems are but they are aware that they struggle with unhappiness, relationships that suffer and fail, career paths that falter time and time again, difficulties in relating well with their children, have eating difficulties/disorders, drink problems, fail to look after themselves and in general are not living their lives as they could and should be. Very often the view that individuals with these kind of habits have of themselves is very poor, they may not like themselves, have a view of themselves which is totally at odds to the view that others see.
Initially I only wanted to be an opera singer, singing was rather like communicating with the 'Gods'. It was connected with 'beyond' in a way that was totally forbidden in my childhood. It was not until I had had a few undesirable experiences of singing for my living around the world that I really began to engage with my desire to Make a Difference and to help people to engage fully with their own lives.
Let me me leap frog on a few years. After nearly thirty years of degrees, research, nursing, health visiting, self employment, multitudes of courses and qualifications, I really see great value in every bit of my journey to this moment. It has been hugely varied and immensely valuable. The insights I have gained have given me great ability help people make sense of their own journey's, and harness and connect with their own abilities to make the most that they can of their journey from here onwards.
