When & Where
I am a life, health and well-being coach. I have been working with women & men, their health, happiness and effectiveness for several decades. Life is something I decided to take control of in my early youth, and have been learning and practicing and growing ever since.
Health and wellbeing have been a fundamental interest throughout my working life - I trained and qualified as a nurse, a health visitor, in Health Education, Nutrition and have been involved in a great deal of health & psychology related research - it is my passion to help individuals to take charge of their own health - which they can do, rather than to become sick and to find that quality of life and good health options are a much greater struggle to achieve and to enjoy.
I have been involved in health and psychology throughout my life. I had interesting origins, and although I read much of Sigmund Freud in my teens, at that time I only wanted to be an opera singer and knew nothing of the great innovators who would be of such influence to me in the future. It was later in my adult years that I learned how much of a strategist I had always been.
Due to childhood circumstances I chose to train as a nurse, as I saw it being a means to get a roof over my head, a salary and it gave me the opportunity of getting a grant to go to music college. I sang my way through my nurses training, the patients loved me, the sisters and matrons thought I was a cheeky, disobedient pest - I did qualify as a nurse - but my dream came true - after years of singing and acting with various groups whilst at St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington, I landed my first professional singing contract two days before my last student day - with some one called Mike Oldfield. That lucky break landed me on Top of the Pops, and had me traveling to the middle and far east and around europe, but after some 'interesting' experiences I realised I wasn't going to change the world singing - and I re-engaged with my study of how to help people make the difference that enables them to be happy in their own lives.
There is a book that could be written, and perhaps will. After nearly thirty years of degrees, research, nursing, health visiting, self employment, multitudes of courses and qualifications I now can make sense of my own journey, and love to help people make sense of their own, and harness and connect with their own abilities to make the most that they can of their journey from here onwards.
Life is what we make it. Choose to make it the best you can.
