Join us for a special concert performed by the Heart of England Co-operative Concert Orchestra in their centenary year. This will be the first concert for the Orchestra of 2017 and all proceeds from the sale of tickets, donations and raffle prizes will be kindly donated to the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust.
The music will feature the Durrell suite - a piece themed around Nature and Wildlife composed in 2009 to celebrate Durrell’s 50th anniversary. It is an orchestral suite that includes a children's and adult choir for the final movement.
Talking about the upcoming concert, Lee Durrell, Durrell’s honorary director said:
"I am very much looking forward to witnessing another live performance of The Durrell Suite, first heard in 2009. It is a brilliant piece of music, which cleverly interprets Gerald Durrell’s classic writings about the animals he encountered during his lifetime and which celebrates the mission of his Trust to save species from extinction."
This is an event not to be missed!
Durrell staff will be in attendance to tell you more about the work of the trust so please arrive in plenty of time to find out more about their global conservation programmes and their mission to save species from extinction.
A huge thank you to the Heart of England Co-operative Concert Orchestra for putting on this exciting event, and to the Heart of England Co-operative Society for sponsoring the venue.
Please note, this is a supporter-led event in aid of Durrell organised by the Heart of England Co-operative Concert Orchestra.
