About this Event

Overview

A growing number of coaches are aware of the gap between world events and trends, and the future they want their professional work and personal actions to help create.

Masterclass outline

This masterclass invites us to gather as responsible professionals and caring citizens. We will share our ‘Earthquake’ moments – when you saw or heard something and realised you will not be at peace until you do something about it. We will unpack the personal, professional and ethical challenges that have led to our ‘Chasms’ – the space between what we want to be saying and doing and what we currently are. And we will explore, share and support each other in finding our pieces of ‘The Puzzle’ in making change for the better.

As well as our individual potential for action, our collective role as a profession is important. We include this voice too with the help of guests such as Hetty Einzig, professional coach, serial activist and catalyst, and editor of AC’s Coaching Perspectives magazine.

Masterclass aims and objectives:

• Explore and articulate your experience of your Earthquake, Chasm and piece of The Puzzle.

• Hear and be inspired as we fearlessly unpack the challenges, realities and possibilities.

• Support each other in taking courageous steps towards making good things happen.

• Become a driver of change community.

Neil Scotton

PCC, Past President of the ICF in the UK, recipient of the ICF’s global President’s Award for contribution to the profession, co-author of The Little Book of Making Big Change Happen and Coaching at Work’s 3 Minutes to midnight’ column. Neil is driven by a simple vision he is not unique in having; sitting with a child (not yet born) on his lap. And them asking, “When you knew the animals were dying, the waters were rising, and the old ways were no longer working, what did you do?” And wanting to tell that child that he did something useful and meaningful for them.

Dr Lise Lewis MBA C.FCIPD EMCC Accredited Master Coach and Coach Supervisor

EIA Master Coach, ESIA Coach Supervisor, Past President of EMCC International 2011-2017, currently EMCC Special Ambassador, author of soon for publication Relational Leadership: Why Feedback Fails and How You Make It Work. As a human being I share the common concern for society and want to join with others to influence the essential change we can achieve together. We probably all contribute ‘something’ to try satisfying what seems to be the unquenchable appetite of world recovery or possibly we think why bother because what difference does my small ‘something’ make. Well it does and our combined efforts will – Let’s do it!

Neil and Lise are both 2019 nominees for Coaching at Work External Coach/Mentor of the Year award. They hope that insights and actions arising from this event will spark actions, friendships and initiatives that we can tell our grandchildren about.
