The Easter Holiday Family Skipping Challenge
Event Information
About this Event
We all know it is good to be active, but sometimes we need a bit of an extra push and encouragement to get out and be as active as we ought to be. According to Government guidelines, our children need to be active at least 60 minutes EVERY DAY and all adults need to exercise regularly too! For decades families have played traditional games outdoors, simple and fun games like skipping. Let us make sure these outdoor and fun games are not forgotten as they are a great way of exercising.
Join us for- The Easter Holiday Family Skipping Challenge.
Practice new skills and most of all enjoy it and have FUN. Perfect for keeping the kids entertained in the school holidays.
We will post one challenge every day on the Wilstock Gardens Facebook group, challenges you can do at home together with your family. There will be great prizes to be won; footballs, ankle skip ball, hula hoops, tennis balls, boomerang or £50!
Sign up and you can collect a free, good quality skipping rope from "https://www.dantheskippingman.com." If you have a cheap quality skipping rope, with no weight, it is really hard to skip and you and your child may give up. So make sure your skipping rope is suitable for skipping. There are plenty of fancy looking skipping ropes on the market, which are not suitable for skipping. Join the Easter Holiday Family Skipping Challenge and you can collect up to two free skipping ropes for each adult who signs up. Why not get the whole family involved- eg Mum, Dad and Grandma! (This offer apply to families living in Somerset, who signs up for this event)
When you have booked your free ticket, you will be sent: a short Youtube film about the importance of being active, an enrolment form and a short feedback form. Please make sure you spend 5 minutes to fill in the paperwork as it enables us to receive funding to continue to run free healthy lifestyle courses.
You can pick up your skipping rope from: Wilstock Park or Wembdon Park on Monday 5th of April, from Wilstock Gardens or we can post you a skipping rope. Please choose your pick up time and location when you book your ticket.
This event is funded by Somerset Skills and Learning and is therefore free to attend.
