Event description

Description

This October, Barclays is launching the Embarrassing Fraud Clinic, a touring surgery that aims to remove the stigma around fraud and scams and encourage people to talk more openly about it.

Fraud is now the leading crime in the UK and can affect anyone. Despite this, it is still something that people are often embarrassed to talk about. The Barclays Embarrassing Fraud Clinic aims to put a stop to this.

Book individual sessions with a group of fraud and cyber-security experts: Jennifer Radcliffe, a “people hacker” and expert on the role of social engineering in fraud; Julie Clegg, Former Detective and Intelligence Expert on Channel 4’s TV Show ‘Hunted’; and Barclays own cyber experts known as the Digital Eagles.

These sessions will provide individuals with personalised advice on protecting against potential threats as well as specialist support for anyone who has been a victim of fraud.

Seminars will also be hosted by the Barclays Digital Eagles which people can book to attend. These seminars will offer information on the most common types of fraud and scams, as well as tips on how to protect yourselves against them.

The Embarrassing Fraud Clinic will visit Glasgow on Saturday 28th October.

The clinic will be open to everyone, not just Barclays customers, and is free to attend.

Please note, these are subject to availability. If you are unable to book onto a place, you are welcome to visit the clinic to learn more about fraud from the Digital Eagles, or you can visit your local Barclays branch.
