Want to build resilience for career success?

  • Need hints and tips about how to be more emotionally resilient?
  • Interested in how you can manage relationships better with colleagues?
  • Want to be effective and well respected in work?

If so, this interesting and insightful session will be invaluable to you. Along with looking at levels of self-awareness, personal resilience and assertiveness we will introduce you to Emotional Intelligence and how it influences relationships and performance within a work environment. The session will also provide ideas on how to manage stress and support you in identifying suitable coping mechanisms.

Learning Outcomes

  • Explore what resilience is and why we need it
  • Identify our preferred tools to build resilience and discuss coping mechanisms for managing stress
  • Introduce the principals of Emotional Intelligence to deepen your understanding of yourself and others
  • Raise self-awareness by reviewing your meta-programmes, how might your personal values help or hinder you within work?
  • Develop assertiveness skills
  • Harness a ‘growth mindset’ to excel at your work and manage relationships with colleagues

This workshop delivered by Sally Beyer, specialist careers consultant, offers opportunities to gain skills in Personal qualities, Self-management and Professional and career development, outlined in the RDF subdomains B1, B2 & B3.

Sally Beyer: Sally is a learning and development professional with over 20 years experience of training and coaching people from all walks of life. Along with working for the University of Liverpool and LJMU, Sally has worked with many private and public organisations delivering career management support to help staff at all levels to achieve their full potential.
