Description

The end of austerity?

Derby after 2020

Join Centre for Cities and Derby City Council at an event which will look ahead to the end of austerity for local areas around the country.

Centre for Cities Cities Outlook 2019 report highlighted the magnitude of the funding cuts faced by cities and the resilience their leadership demonstrated – improving local government efficiency and maintaining vital service provision for the most vulnerable, under mounting pressure and increased needs.

This event will be an opportunity to hear from local leadership in Derby, including Council Chief Executive Carole Mills, and Claire Twells, Business Development Parter at Smith Partnership and more to be confirmed. Speakers will talk about their ambitions and priorities in a new, if challenging, age. It is open to the public and invites the local business community, community groups and other interested residents to discuss and debate the opportunities for the city, the actions the city and business community can take, and consider the role that national government should play.
