Description

The end of austerity?

Liverpool after 2020

Join Centre for Cities and Liverpool City Council at an event which will look ahead to the end of austerity for local areas around the country.

Centre for Cities Cities Outlook 2019 report highlighted the magnitude of the funding cuts faced by cities and the resilience their leadership demonstrated – improving local government efficiency and maintaining vital service provision for the most vulnerable, under mounting pressure and increased needs.

This event will be an opportunity to hear from local leadership in Liverpool, including Joe Anderson, Mayor of Liverpool, Liverpool Riverside MP Dame Louise Ellman and Frank McKenna, CEO of Downtown in Business about their ambitions and priorities in a new, if challenging, age. It is open to the public and invites the local business community, community groups and other interested residents to discuss and debate the opportunities for the city, the actions the city and business community can take, and consider the role that national government should play.

The event will take place from 5pm until 6.30pm on 6 June at the Royal Liver Building.
