Description

We'd like to invite you to join us at the final event of The Enquiring Classroom project in the Chester Beatty Library. At this day long event we will share our handbook and other project resources, engage creatively with the collections, build communities of practice, and share ideas and practices. We have invited a range of stakeholders with whom we have developed relationships and we are keen to build sustainable communities of practice on this island and in Europe. We'd be delighted if you could join us to learn together, to reflect, and to plan next steps.

The outline of the day is as follows:

11-11.15 Introduction: The Enquiring Classroom Team

11.15-12.30 Encountering the World: Workshop engaging with the Museum Collection

Group A 11.15-11.45 Guided tour on the materiality of objects in the collection

Group B 11.15-11.45 Engagement with exhibition and space through series of tasks (Trish and Aislinn)

Swap groups: 11.45-12.15

12.15-12.30 Debrief in Lecture Room

12.30-1.15 Lunch (offered by us in the Silk Road Cafe)

1.15-1.45 Ways of Seeing: Encountering the Gift of a Lifetime Exhibition. Jenny Siung (Chester Beatty Library, Head of Education)

1.45-2.15 The Arts, Activism and Building Creative Communities with People living in Direct Provision: Ailbhe Kenny (MIC) and Lucky Khambule (MASI)

2.15-2:45 Sharing Inclusive Practice: Colm O'Cadhain (NCCA) and Ciaran Caulfield (Principal and member of Sharing Inclusive Practice Network) and Stephanos Cherouvis (EA)

2:45-3.15 Creating Ethical Curricula: Building Communities: Seamus Conboy (CNS), Jacinta Regan (NCCA)

3:15-4:15 Renewing the World and Imagining the Future:

i. Exchanging knowledge and practice through storycircle methodology.

The Enquiring Classroom is an ERAMUS+ Funded KA2 Project led by Aislinn O'Donnell (Maynooth University, Ireland), Patricia Kieran (Mary Immaculate College, Limerick, Ireland), Lovisa Bergdahl, Södertörn University, Stockholm, Sweden) and Stephanos Cherouvis (Ellinogermaniki Agogi, Athens, Greece).
