Event description
The environmental impact of clothes production and what you can do to help change the norms

About this event

This online event is part of the Fashion for Climate movement and hosted by sustainable fashion brand VILDNIS.

The fashion industry accounts for no less than 20 % of the global water pollution and 10 % of the global carbon emissions according to the UN, and its unsustainable practises play a huge role when it comes to loss of biodiversity, deforestation and climate change.

This event will teach you about the environmental issues related to clothing production and highlight why its important that we all do something actively to help change the norms.

More sustainable processes and materials are already widely available. The only reason that many major fashion brands are dragging their heels is profit. Two things can change this; regulation and consumer demand. By the end of this event, you will have a good understanding of the environmental issues in the fashion industry as well as how you can influence your favourite brands to change their practises for the better through your fashion purchases.

The event starts with a 20-30 minute talk by the Founder of VILDNIS, Ulla Vitting Richards, and finishes with a short Q&A. Everyone can sign up and join for free.
