About this event
- Event lasts 2 hours 30 minutes
Outdoor events attendees with dietary requirements report feeling misunderstood by events organisers. They experience anxiety, feel excluded, and report having a challenging and frustrating experience.
Come to an online workshop based on the findings of UK wide research by Clare MacKay and Dr. Ed Little on the experiences of UK outdoor events attendees with dietary requirements. Discuss your ideas with industry peers and identify how you can make your outdoor events more inclusive.
Data Privacy Policy
We are committed to protecting your data and privacy. The information you provide will be used to plan, deliver, monitor attendance, and promote our corporate events.
Your records are stored on a secure database and access is restricted to those who need the information in order to carry out their duties at UWE Bristol. We may occasionally share your information with other university departments in order to tell you about activities we think will interest you (e.g., College events).
When you register for an event online via Eventbrite, the information you provide when booking will be processed and stored by Eventbrite in accordance with their privacy policy and terms.
We want to establish if our research has been impactful. We are therefore using interactive software at the event to understand: How much you know about catering for events attendees with dietary requirements; the extent to which attending our event contributes to your learning; what changes - if any - you think you can make given your learning; and feedback on the event. You do not have to participate in this element of the event if you do not want to. Your participation will be entirely voluntary. You will be asked to provide your informed consent prior to participating and you can choose to opt out without penalty. If you choose to participate, you will be asked to answer rating questions and provide text entries in response to questions presented to you via your smartphone or laptop. Your responses will be anonymous. Participating will provide you with some time to reflect on your knowledge, the extent of any learning gain, and how you might use the findings of our research in your practice. We do not foresee or anticipate any significant risk to you in taking part in this activity. If, however, you feel uncomfortable at any time you can stop participating. Please note that, as the data will be anonymous, if you consent and choose to stop participating, we will not be able to withdraw any data that you have provided prior to this time. If you consent to take part, you will be consenting to the use of the anonymous data in presentations, publications and teaching materials. All the information we receive from you will be treated in the strictest confidence. We will ensure that there is no possibility of identification or re-identification of you from the data you provide us.
