About this event

Most of us rush past life’s small details. But when you pause, pay attention, and really look, the ordinary becomes extraordinary. This walk invites you to use your phone camera, your senses, and your presence to uncover hidden beauty and deeper meaning in everyday life.

Through this gentle stroll along the River Thames, you’ll experience a blend of photography, mindfulness, and philosophy. We will explore:

· My personal five-step guide to getting good photos (it has nothing to do with framing or lighting).

· Satipaṭṭhāna (foundations of mindfulness): activate your senses, deepen your presence, and see familiar surroundings with new eyes.

· Wabi sabi: inspired by Japanese philosophy, discover how imperfection and simplicity can reveal unexpected beauty and depth.

· Shinrin-yoku (nature bathing): experience the restorative practice of slowing down and immersing yourself in the presence of nature.

· Shifting perspective: explore how a single photograph can transform not only how you see the image, but also how you view yourself and your life.

· Transforming thoughts: learn how perception shapes meaning and how reframing the “ordinary” can spark joy, creativity, and resilience.

· Philosophy through photography: you'll choose one photo to carry forward, infusing it with personal significance to serve as a reminder that the meaning of life is shaped by how you see it.

· As a bonus, you will learn four daily rituals that, when practised consistently, will transform your life.

Who This Is For

· Complete beginners- no photography experience required.

· Anyone who feels they “don’t have an eye” for photography.

· Those looking to improve their photography.

· Burnt-out photographers looking to reignite their spark.

· Anyone curious about mindfulness and philosophy.

· Those struggling with personal challenges, looking to improve their mindset and find meaning in life again.

· Anyone wishing to turn an ordinary day into an extraordinary one.
