LGBT Foundation, the UK’s leading LGBTQ+ health and wellbeing charity, is marking its 50th anniversary with Exxxhibition – a provocative, free, 18+ event opening on 11 September at The Thompsons Arms, Manchester. Launching in the middle of Sexual Health Week, the exhibition celebrates 50 years of safer sex, queer resilience, and LGBTQ+ activism.
From 6–8pm, guests will be the first to view rarely seen archive materials tracing the evolution of safer sex education from 1975 to today, alongside the launch of LGBT Foundation’s new Safer Sex packs, commemorating five decades of community support. In celebration of LGBT Foundation's 50 years, a full 1970s theme will run through the night with décor, music, and fancy dress, alongside a condom packing party in recognition of over 30 years of hand-made safer sex packs.
After the launch, Exxxhibition will remain open to the public at The Thompsons Arms for the rest of the year.
PLEASE NOTE: This event will take place in the upstairs room of The Thompsons Arms which is only accessible via stairs.
