The EYFS for 2-4 year olds – a child-centred approach
Friday, 4 November 2016 from 09:00 to 15:00 (GMT)
Introducing the EYFS for 2-4 year olds – a child-centred approach
All practitioners working with young children in the EYFS.
This day will support practitioners to revisit their understanding of how children aged 2-4 years learn best.
It will familiarise them with the current EYFS framework.
The essential role of the adult will be clarified, and how sensitive interactions support learning.
The observation, planning and assessment cycle will be outlined, with examples taken from current nursery practice.
The idea of ‘school readiness’ will be explored in the context of the transition from Nursery into Reception classes within the EYFS framework.
The day will be split between taught sessions and guided tasks in the Nursery School, to see the theories in action.
This will be an inspiring day celebrating the learning and development of young children.
Hosted by the staff of Robert Owen Early Years Centre - a STEEP founding member
