This workshop is for Social Work practitioners, Students, Experts by Experience, and Placement Providers.
The social work profession has evolved over the years in response to challenges and opportunities posed by prevailing economic and socio-political conditions. The Covid –19 pandemic has seen social work service delivery change drastically to respond to the pandemic. This has created complex professional challenges for social work. Some notable challenges include building relationships and assessing risks while working remotely. There are also opportunities for social work to explore the role of a social worker for the future, which includes embracing technology and creativity in building and maintaining relationships. With insight from leading academics, Social Work England, BASW, experts by experience, placement providers , social work practitioners and students, the conference will seek to explore the question of how post Covid - 19 social work will look like, it will explore both the opportunities and the challenges this presents for social work
