About this event

On FUTC DL Stage 2 you will continue your journey in non-violence. The goal is to help you to build healthier relationships with the people around you, and reduce your experience of violent or aggressive behaviour.

NB: does not address factors relating to domestic violence/abuse

Stage 2 materials are similar to Stage 1, with a variety of learning methods again used. The course revisits elements of Stage 1, introduces new themes, and supports participants to deepen their engagement with the issues.

As with Stage 1, the course is based upon six worksheets, distributed weekly. A new feature is the ‘journal’, in which you are invited to record your responses to the weekly tasks that we set you. The course also introduces new themes, such as ‘taking responsibility’ and ‘the wider world’.

Since Stage 2 is more demanding than Stage 1, you may need to spend more than an hour each week to complete the worksheets, although there is no time limit for completion. On completion, an assessment of the work and an AVP certificate will be issued. On occasion we may ask for one or more practices to be resubmitted, to ensure that learning has been achieved.

Please note:

  • we will send out your first piece of coursework by email within seven days.
  • the electronic version of the course cannot be completed on a tablet or mobile phone
  • if you don't have a computer or laptop, please send your address to futc.dl@avpbritain.org.uk so that we can post your coursework to you

By enrolling on this course you confirm that you are over 18 years of age, and that you grant AVP Britain permission to retain your data as necessary, in accordance with GDPR.

Organised by

AVP Britain is a registered national charity, which delivers low cost workshops for people who want to learn how to manage anger, handle conflict, and build better relationships with others. The workshops use group exercises, activities and discussions to explore non-violent ways of working with conflict. For people who are unable to access our workshops we offer ‘Facing Up to Conflict’, a six-week distance learning programme.
