We will be hosting two events at the Cheltenham Chase hotel on Wednesday 17 October. Please click the appropriate link to register for:

Morning session - The Facts of Death - ReSPECT

The Facts of Death: Standardising our Approach to Improve End of Life Care through the Recommended Summary Plan for Emergency Care and Treatment (ReSPECT) is the second in a series of collaborative events exploring the adoption and spread of ReSPECT in the West of England.

This event will focus on

  • identifying the current picture of end of life care across the region
  • provide skills for health professionals on having the ‘Brave / Difficult Conversations’ around advanced care planning
  • share the project plans and updates from STPs on implementing ReSPECT
  • share excellence of practice in end of life care across our region
  • provide interactive sessions for event attendees

The draft agenda will outline the following:

  • 9:40 Brave Conversations
  • 10:30 Refreshment break
  • 11:00 Workshops

Afternoon session - NEWS2 - A progress update

The West of England AHSN has been working collaboratively over the last three years to standardise and implement the National Early Warning Score.

The programme is designed to give delegates a system wide update on the roll out of NEWS2 across the West of England, including an opportunity to learn from organisations which have already gone live with the updated tool. There will also be the opportunity to share and learn from good practice, as well as network with colleagues from across the region working on similar projects.

The draft agenda will outline the following:

  • 14:20 NEWS in SWAST
  • 14:40 Lessons Learnt
  • 15:10 Workshops

Attending both sessions?

There is an opportunity for delegates to attend both the ReSPECT morning session and the NEWS2 afternoon session, please click the appropriate registration link.

Lunch and refreshments

Lunch will be provided for all delegates from 1.15 - 2.00pm attending either the morning, afternoon or both sessions.

Tickets are free to register, however a no-show fee of £40 will apply if you register but fail to attend on the day.
