The Fashion & Jewellery Exchange Birmingham

Calling ambitious fashion, jewellery and accessories entrepreneurs!

Meet buyers from top high street brands and hear from inspiring fashion and jewellery experts and entrepreneurs.

Food and refreshments included.

Speakers from brands including:

Exchange events put in you in touch with large brand buyers looking for products and solutions just like yours. You'll also hear advice from a variety of entrepreneurs who have been there and done it plus experts in topics such as sales, marketing and PR for the fashion and jewellery industry.

As an optional addition, you can bring along one sample item from your business and business cards to display. As there will be 100+ attendees at this event there will be limited space available. All jewellery will be displayed in lockable cases. Attendees, buyers, journalists and bloggers can view your products during the breaks.

Alice Chamberlain and Charlotte McCann, RBH Creative Communications and Young British Designers

Charlotte plays a key role in the day to day running of all Young British Designers marketing communications including social, CRM, PR, shoots and media.

Alice plays a wider strategy role in the YBD team, helping plan future season activity, PR events and liaising with designers.

Rosie Wolfenden, co-founder and managing director of Tatty Devine, shares her story of how she built her high profile jewellery business.

Hear how to raise funds and manage money for your fashion and jewellery business

12pm: Getting into the mind of a jewellery buyer: Oliver Bonas

Rebecca Jones, former Birmingham School of Jewellery graduate and current buyer at Oliver Bonas, talks about her time in the industry including previous experience of buying smaller brands and future trends within jewellery

12.30pm: Jewels in the crown
A panel of successful entrepreneurs based in the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter explain how they got started and accessed support to keep growing.

  • Henry Deakin, Deakin & Francis, England's oldest family jeweller that has kept up with jewellery trends since 1786!

  • Michele White, an award-winning jewellery-maker with premises in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter who sells her work in the British Museum Shop amongst other locations.

  • Neil Grant from Crescent Silver, a master craftsman and silversmith with many high profile clients including the Royal Family and Highgrove

  • James Newman, the award winning creative director at James Newman Jewellery and Birmingham School of Jewellery graduate

1pm: Meet the buyer: Selfridges
Helen Attwood, head buyer for shoes & accessories and Hazel North, head of women merchandising, Selfridges
