The Fate of Britain Convention
Meet 300+ amazing people, individuals and organisations, all ready to do the joined-up, collaborative work needed to build a better world.
A call to collaborate
We know the real crisis in our country is the disconnection that makes people afraid to talk to each other. More people don’t vote than do, and yet most of us don’t like the direction in which our country is headed. People are lost, directionless, and feel unheard and unrepresented. Everyone is looking for something – and we think you’re the people who are going to do the work to make that something real.
Hosted by Absurd Intelligence, the radical communications agency with a track record in cultural strategy, narrative leadership and mobilisation, The Fate of Britain Convention will be a unique convening of bottom-up organisers, artists and people in politics, with a mission to not only imagine but begin living the new story we so desperately need.
What will it feel like?
To collaborate at this moment of cultural significance, to create the most uplifting and focused gathering you’ve ever been to. You’ll be invited to help shape the agenda in advance and decide upon convention processes for how we reach our goal, as well as putting skills into practice and figuring out how we have each other’s backs.
The goal?
To leave with contacts and a plan for what work needs to be done, and how we align around a central story to get that work done, to change our country for the better.
Gift economy ticketing
We’re using a gift economy model to support those from grassroots organising a long way from London to come and be part of the day.
To cover just costs for venue hire and food, the average ticket price would need to be £25. If you can afford more to support someone else to come, please think about gifting them a ticket. If you can chip in a bit more to help with transport and refreshments, we thank you in advance. If £25 is too much, then there are £10 tickets, or please get in touch if money is a barrier to you being with us.
- £50 Gift Ticket (yours + 1 other for a grassroots organiser)
- £25 Standard Ticket
- £10 Trust Ticket
- £ Pay what you can/feel £0-£150
Why shouldn’t I come?
Don’t come if you just want to sit on your bum, or you’re not up for collaborating. We’re inviting you because you get stuff done. Like you, we organise around doing things. We know the work is already underway in many places. This isn’t the start of something new, it’s about bringing together the people we see doing that work so we can identify the common direction we can all align around.
