In this special episode, Sable Lomax (she/her) is joined by the other two members of the Fearless Futures Leadership Team, Sara Shahvisi (she/her), Chief Programmes Officer and Hanna Naima McCloskey (she/her), CEO and Founder. About the host
Sable Lomax (she/her) comes to Fearless Futures with over 10 years of experience in PK-12 education and program development. Her expertise lies in curriculum development, facilitation, pedagogy, and Black studies. She has wide-ranging experience in facilitation, including workplace effectiveness and diversity. Sable has done extensive research on the the long-term effects and overall effectiveness of oppression by way of criminalization of poor people of color, and the importance of Black feminism and the African aesthetic to resist various systems of oppression. She received her BA in African American Studies and French from Temple University and a MSEd in Education from the University of Pennsylvania. Sable is also a community creator, focusing on building vast national networks for professional women of color in order to arm them with the necessary tools to show up full and whole, both personally and professionally, while eating large amounts of cookies.
About the guest
Hanna Naima McCloskey (she/her) is of Algerian-British heritage and the Founder & CEO of Fearless Futures. She has worked for the UN, NGOs and the Royal Bank of Scotland, across communications, research and finance roles; and has lived, studied and worked in Israel-Palestine, Italy, USA, Sudan, Syria and the UK. She has a BA in English from the University of Cambridge and an MA in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, with a specialism in Conflict Management. Hanna is a passionate and skilled facilitator and educator, and education is the life blood of Fearless Futures.
Sara Shahvisi (pronounced Shaah-vay-see) (she/her) is Chief Programmes Officer at Fearless Futures, leading on all Fearless Futures’ unique and innovative inclusion programming and consulting services. Sara has brought transformative inclusion thinking and doing to organisations in the public, private and not-for-profit arenas. Sara has a decade of experience in education and alongside her BA in Politics, Anthropology and Sociology from the University of Cambridge, has an MSc in Social Policy from the London School of Economics and was awarded the Loch Exhibition Award. Sara is Kurdish British and lives in London.
