Keynote: Aurélie Pols

Aurélie will be talking about how our cherished European values that we strive to pass onto our children are being challenged through increased access to information and digitisation.

She will examine out responsibility as data subjects, citizens and parents to assure technology works for the benefit of human beings in the long run. We know that the processing of personal data should be designed to serve mankind - but what could that mean for us today and for the next generation to come?

Aurélie is a member of the European Data Protection Supervisor’s (EDPS) Ethics Advisory Group(EAG), cochairs the IEEE’s P7002—Data Privacy Process standard initiative, and serves as a training advisor to the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Previously, she served as data governance and privacy advocate for leading data management platform (DMP) Krux Digital Inc. prior to its acquisition by Salesforce. She teaches privacy and ethics at IE Business School in Madrid and Solvay Business School in Brussels. Disclaimer: she hasn’t watched Black Mirror!

Is the venue accessible - We have accessable toilets on the events floor. We have a lift to the events space and a ramp up the front entrance steps. There is a hearing loop avaliable.
