DIPLOMA IN INNOVATION IN EDUCATION
What is the program about?
Diploma in Innovation in Education is a very unique program organized by Finland’s top universities: The University of Helsinki, (HY+) Centre for Continuing Education and Aalto University Executive Education (Aalto EE).
The program explores the concepts of innovation and leading change in schools. Participants learn about the 21st century way-of-learning while adopting an experiential culture in managing and running educational facilities. Participants work in multicultural teams on current challenges related to education utilizing various strategic methods and techniques such as design thinking, lean entrepreneurship, leadership and creative approaches to learning.
Why to participate?
The ability to innovate is critical in education. In fact, it is in the core of all human learning and change. However, knowledge how to build living practices that generate innovations in schools is still missing: how schools and individual teachers could develop and use their pedagogical resources, and to what extent changes could be linked to improvements?
The Innovation in Education program is home to creative leaders in education – among both faculty and participants. Together with outstanding fellow participants from Finland and others around the world, you will learn about the latest technologies and methods that will help you manage and run innovative schools in the 21st century. During the intensive week, you will learn about the opportunities, as well as challenges, at your organization and within your working environment and networks. In addition, you will be challenged and encouraged to identify, explore and observe the different issues from other participants’ point of view. Through it all, you will acquire abilities of an influential leader and innovative practitioner to whom the mission of creating a better world through better education is a daily task.
Finally, at the end of the program participant will acquire the “Diploma in Innovation in Education”
