Description
To celebrate the 400th birthday of Venetian composer Barbara Strozzi, Scordatura Collective are taking a musical trip to Venice to explore the music of the women who composed in and were inspired by the floating city. The programme will include modern reimaginings of music by Barbara Strozzi and Antonia Bembo as well as music by Fanny Hensel, Cecilia McDowall and Maddalena Laura Sirmen. The evening will also feature the World Premiere of 'What Can Be Done?' by our Composer in Residence Līva Blūma, inspired by the songs of Barbara Strozzi.
