Event description

Description

This is probably your last chance for six years to see the Ford Madox Brown Murals in Manchester Town Hall's Great Hall and have Ed Glinert explain the stories behind the paintings. Glinert and his associate, John Alker, have done extraordinary amounts of research to gain a deeper understanding of these sensational paintings and so that we can reveal all – why these scenes were chosen, who the people represented are, why there's a religious message in each painting (attacking one particular group); nasty stuff.

This is how this tour works. We start at the Art Gallery at 10.30am and examine the Pre-Raphaelite paintings there. We then have a coffee break for half an hour before heading over to the Town Hall. We should be finished about 1.30pm.
