The Future Homes Standard 2025 Update

The Future Homes Standard 2025 Update

By CIOB Preston

Overview

Chris Dodd of Starship Group will give an update on the upcoming changes to The Future Homes Standard

Please note: this event is for over 18’s only.

With the Future Homes and Buildings Standard due to become laid in parliament before the end of the year. How are you designing and future proofing the buildings you construct. Join the Chartered Institute of Building Cumbria and Lancashire for our final CPD event of 2025 as we welcome Starship Modular who are going to demonstrate not only compliance with the new legislation, but how they as a company have set their own standard. Surpassing the basic requirements of the new standard to truly reliver homes that meet the social, economic, environmental, and local needs in the modern world.

Chris Dodd, a director of Starship will provide insight into the barriers that Starship are breaking to consistently deliver zero carbon homes. From delivering holiday lodges at Chester Zoo or their first three zero carbon properties in New Ferry at the site of a gas explosion a few years earlier. Starship’s model and company strategy is to only build EPC A rated properties across the northwest fitted out with triple glazing, air source heat pumps and whole house mechanical ventilation with heat recovery. As key partner in delivery housing in Merseyside and the wider northwest they are leading the way new homes are being delivered to their customers, whether that be through open market sales or in partnership with housing associations.

Chris will also explain how and why over a couple of days a Starship Home appeared outside the area in Liverpool creating loads of interest to even being featured on the BBC news.
