Join us at Patch, Bournemouth for an evening of film, conversation and community connection.
We’ll be screening two documentaries, exploring the hidden heritage of Bournemouth and the story of a beloved brewery.
Coastal Communities, Coastal Stories is a powerful exploration of Bournemouth town centre’s changing identity. Through personal memories and community voices, the film highlights how heritage, culture, and everyday lives shape the heart of the town. It celebrates memory while inviting audiences to reimagine the town centre as a vibrant, living hub for community and culture.
Brewed By The Coast is an affectionate portrait of a beloved local business, Poole Hill Brewery, a bar, brewery, and music venue run by the irrepressible Jennifer Tingay. The film follows Jen’s journey from barmaid to brewmistress, business owner, and community leader. Blending archive footage, music, and intimate moments inside the brewhouse, it captures more than the craft of beer-making — it shows why places like this matter. At its heart, it’s a story about connection, resilience, and the joy of gathering over a pint.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion and community conversation, including a talk with Town App about supporting local businesses and exploring what we can do to help them thrive.
Come along to watch, reflect, and share in an evening celebrating local stories, culture, and community.
This event is kindly sponsored by BCP Film Office and Town App.
All ticket sales will directly support the filmmakers by helping cover distribution costs to film festivals.
