The Future of Banking led by Daniel Broby. Daniel is finance academic and formerly a senior figure in the fund management industry. He is Director of the Centre for Financial Innovation and Regulation (CeFRI). He conducts research in the Department of Accounting and Finance, ranked "1st in the UK for Accounting and Finance" in the Complete University Guide Subject League Table 2019. Daniel is a specialist in Financial Technology. In addition to being a thought leader and influencer, he conducts research into capital markets and digital technologies. He is a recognized expert on the financial applications of blockchain and distributed ledgers.

Open Banking led by Giovanni Caccavello is a doctoral research project focuses on examining the emergence of the UK 'Open Banking' innovation ecosystem. Recently, Giovanni has presented a paper entitled "Exploring the Process of Asymmetric Partnerships Selection: The Case of Open Banking in the UK and the Dialectical Contradiction of 'Co-Opetition" at the 2020 British Academy of Management conference. Prior to his PhD, Giovanni worked as Google Policy Fellow for Google in Milan and as Research Fellow at the Institute of Economic Affairs in London. He is also an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

A machine Learning Based Early Warning System Boosted by Topological Data Analysis led by Dr Devraj Basu who is currently Senior Lecturer in Finance in the Accounting and Finance department at Strathclyde Business School, the top ranked department of Accounting and Finance in the UK according the Sunday Times. His area of research is financial markets, covering equity markets, commodity markets and also alternative investments, and a number of his papers have been published in top ranked international peer reviewed journals as well as top industry journals. He is actively involved in Regtech having set up a Scottish Regtech Forum which brings together industry, academia and government to help understand the fast moving Regtech landscape and how Scotland can position itself to become a leading player. He has helped design Strathclyde’s MSc in Financial Technology, the UK’s first master’s program in FintechHis fintech related research includes a paper on incorporating precision timing into blockchain clearing, a joint project with the UK’s National Physical Laboratory as well as a paper on the socio-economic implications of blockchain. On the data analytics side he is working on applying topological data analysis to understanding financial markets.

Online dissemination of financial information led by Dr James Bowden. James is a Lecturer in Financial Technology. He has a PhD in Accounting and Finance at the University of Dundee. His research investigates relationships between online financial message board postings and abnormal trading activity in shares listed on the London Stock Exchange AIM. I hold an MSc in Investment Analysis (University of Stirling), and a BA (Hons) in International Business (Nottingham Trent University).James researches the application of sentiment analysis methods in financial markets, and the role of online investor networks and communities on the price-discovery process. His research interests also include the role of activist short-sellers in financial markets, behavioural finance, and visualisation of financial data.
