Event description

Description

Genomics research is highly topical with the promise of greater diagnostic and prognostic potential which can expand individualised medicine and transform health care. It also comes with challenges: these can be organisational, in relation to service delivery, or clinical, related to the interpretation of results. Research plays a vital role in determining the way forward. Given the fact the 100K genome will close to recruitment next year and that genetic laboratories will be reorganised regionally and nationally, the Yorkshire and Humber AHSN, GMC and CRN are organising a meeting, on a North East Quadrant basis, inviting academics and clinicians to consider the way forward for genomics research in this part of the country so that we can realise the benefits for our patients.

This will be a 1 day meeting with presentations from key speakers including Jonathan Sheffield (Chief Exec of the Clinical Research Network) and leading academics from the North East.
