This event will provide participants with an overview of how a new national focus on health and wellbeing is being embedded into policing, and the impact this is having on future strategy at organisational level.
Graham Smith is Director of People and Leadership for Dorset and Devon & Cornwall Police Forces, which have a combined workforce of 7,500 officers, staff and volunteers. Graham is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and holds a Masters Degree in Management.
In addition to his Force responsibilities, Graham is a member of the CIPD National Policy Forum, and previously held roles as the Association of Chief Police Officers Lead for 'People Management'; Chair of the CIPD Police Forum, and Employers' Side Negotiator for the Police Staff Council. During his time in these various roles Graham has worked with Ministers of State, Senior Government Officials and a wide variety of national and international bodies.
Graham is an experienced facilitator, speaker and writer, having published a wide variety of articles on people management. He is the author of 'Absence Management - A Real World Approach'.
