The Future of Housing: the opportunity and challenge of large-scale development in London
Wednesday 14 December 2016
8.30am - 12.00pm
8 John Adam Street, London, WC2N 6EZ
A wealth of large developments are rapidly changing the face of our city. The RSA, in collaboration with British Land, would like to invite you to a very special morning event at John Adam Street to consider the future of housing on large scale mixed use sites in London.
British Land, as both a major land owner and developer in Canada Water, and the widercity, understands that it plays a key role in the delivery of housing in London, and that the opportunities and challenges facing them will not be unique. With many other major developments planned and underway in London, British Land would like to convene a wider group of experts also working on the future of the city, to discuss how we might collectively foster a future of inclusive and liveable places in London.
This roundtable event will focus on how we can and should use a diverse range of housing tenure and types to influence and create better places for all. By bringing together developers, housing associations, London boroughs, health and wellbeing practitioners, investors, community representatives and thought leaders, we aim to pool ideas and share learning from across the spectrum of the city’s developments and locations to examine the wider benefits of this alternative approach to developments of scale.
