LivWiSE is excited to welcome Holly Ridings to the University on Wednesday 9th October.

Holly is the first female Chief Flight Director at NASA. She works at Mission Control in Houston, Texas, and is responsible for all NASA Human Space Flight missions including the International Space Station, the Orion Programme, NASA's return to the Moon, and future manned missions to Mars.

Holly will talk about her career and role at NASA, current and future of human space flight missions - including the ISS, return to the Moon, and Mars - before opening up to questions from the audience. This talk is suitable for adults and children over the age of 12.

If you would like to ask Holly a questions, you can submit one during registration. A number of questions will be selected. There may be an opportunity on the night to take questions from the floor.

About Holly

Holly Ridings is NASA’s chief flight director, managing human spaceflight missions from the Mission Control Center at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston. Holly manages 32 active flight directors and flight directors-in-training who oversee a variety of human spaceflight missions involving the International Space Station, including integrating American-made commercial crew spacecraft into the fleet of vehicles servicing the orbiting laboratory, as well as Orion spacecraft missions to the Moon and beyond.

Ridings, a native of Amarillo, Texas, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University in 1996. She joined NASA in 1998 as a flight controller in the thermal operations group
