The Future of Money Summit
Event Information
About this Event
Covid 19 is accelerating fundamental changes already underway in how we handle, use and regulate money. Traditional banks and physical cash are losing out to digital currencies and challenger fintechs. Successive crises are pushing policymakers to reappraise the value of money itself - and the fairness of its distribution. In February, Tortoise will host a one day virtual summit that will look at this dynamic financial landscape and the implications of change for business, society and government.
The summit will bring together monetary experts, business leaders, fintech entrepreneurs, politicians, central bankers, activists and educationalists to discuss the big questions about the future of money.
Sessions include:
- Digital currencies and the death of cash
- What's next in the fintech revolution?
- Corruption: are financial regulators fit for purpose?
- Debt: do we want more of it, or less?
Speakers include:
- Ann Cairns, Executive Vice Chair, Mastercard.
- Huw van Steenis, Head of Investor Relations at UBS; formerly Senior Adviser to Mark Carney.
- Bill Winters, Chief Executive, Standard Chartered.
- Anna Maj, FinTech leader and Advisor
