Join us for an evening of talks exploring the results GMCA Open Data Consultation, the state of open data in GM, and its future.

About this Event

In November 2020, Open Data Manchester undertook an open data consultation on behalf of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA).

Forming part of the GM Local Industrial Strategy, members of the business, VCSE and academic sectors were asked about how open data is currently being used , what value it brings, what open data needs there are, and to find out any accessibility issues or challenges.

On Tuesday 26 January 2021, we'll present the findings of this report, as well hear from speakers about the importance of open data to places like Greater Manchester.

Speakers

Jessica Hambley, GMCA - Jessica will speak about the Open Data Consultation and how it fits into the GMCA's Local Data Review, part of their wider Local Industrial Strategy.

Anne Marie Errock, MCRactive - Digital Strategic Lead for MCRactive, the sport and leisure arm of Manchester City Council. Anne Marie is currently overseeing the digital transformation of the sport and leisure IT infrastructure, which includes, Web platform, Provider Portal, CRM system and Central Data Repository hub.

Joel Green, Markerstudy Group - Pricing Manager for Markerstudy Group (formally Co-op insurance) and qualified actuary. He will talk to us about the use of open data within insurance, looking particularly at transport and socio–economic information.

The evening will consist of a number of short talks, with time for Q&A. It will take place online via Zoom.
