Retail is undergoing a huge transformation. Huge household names have either gone out of business or are going through difficult times, while fast-moving digital-first new generation of companies are growing at an exponential rate. What can entrepreneurs and large retail companies learn from these digital disruptors?

Join our panel of next generation retailers discussing the challenges and opportunities that technology presents in this current landscape.

Come down to our Hello Soda Manchester office on September 20th to hear what they have to say.

Speakers: Sian English, Seventy7; Frances Bishop, The Pud Store & Ex-BBC The Apprentice Candidate; Hannah Anderson, Media Chain; Tom Downing, Loaf; Michael Boyle, Maniere de Voir; Matt Bird, We Are Gntlmen; Nikki Samuels, SAMBRO; Rory Burns, TickX.

     Hannah Anderson - Media Chain

Hannah is the Director of Media, Creative and Brand Strategy at Media Chain, part of Social Chain Group, one of the world’s most influential social media publishing houses. As part of the three individuals who first started the Manchester-based business, they have now grown to over 200 employees with offices in New York, London and Berlin. The communities she has created reach over 1billion people every month through their 75million followers, their engagement ratios make them the most engaged social media portfolio in the world.

After starting the company in 2014, their power over social conversations led media outlets like Huffington Post to call them the “social media illuminati” and Buzzfeed to state “they can make anything the number one trend in under thirty minutes”. Hannah has been listed in Vogue’s 25 most influential women in Britain.

Today Media Chain control over 100 channels across major consumer passion points including sport, fitness, food and lifestyle. Hannah oversees a team of fifty who are focused on growing new media platforms. They created one of the first ever live Facebook photos which hit 100million views within 24hours.

Her rare mix creative flair and innate understanding of the way people communicate online has led her to attract some of the world’s biggest brands. Spanning a wide range of industries, Hannah has led campaigns for Nike, Puma, Amazon, Apple, Disneyland, Netflix, Dreamworks, Sky, Superdry and Thomas Cook.

Frances Bishop - The Pud Store

Frances has had a rather unorthodox journey into the world of business, and one she credits with giving her the determination to succeed no matter what. After dropping out of Durham University at 20, she returned home to her native Nottingham and worked as a barmaid. It's here she learnt the real way of the working world, and many of the best business lessons she now uses on a daily basis - such as ensuring when people talk - you really list.

After the birth of her son Oscar, Frances noted that there was a significant gap in the market to create a no nonsense children’s store which was both welcoming yet not overpowering. A store which really valued their customers. After coming a respectable 3rd on BBC One's The Apprentice, Frances has spent the last 2 years perfecting her business to ensure it is now in a position to scale up.

Rory Burns - TickX

Rory is the Director of Growth at TickX, the leading event ticket search engine and price comparison website, who have been described as the "Skyscanner of events and attractions". Prior to this, Rory was at North-West unicorn The Hut Group where he led digital strategy and perfromance marketing for their beauty portfolio.
