The Future of Work: Diversity and Inclusion
Event Information
About this Event
There's never been more discussion around diversity and inclusion in the world of work. Organizations have finally recognised that change needs to happen, yet progress has been excruciatingly slow. What are the problems that are holding us back, and where are all the men in the conversation?
In their new book Belonging, Kathryn Jacob, Sue Unerman and Mark Edwards argue that most men are not engaged with D&I initiatives in the workplace. They may feel threatened by the changing cultural landscape or unmotivated to change, not realising what's in it for them.
Join us for this event in our Future of Work series, in partnership with Not9to5, to discuss why we need commitment from both men and women to achieve diversity that lasts.
The event will be hosted by Helen Denny FRSA, founder of Not9to5 and Angela Robertson FRSA, Network Engagement Coordinator for RSA Scotland.
Not9to5 enables businesses to thrive outside of the 9-to-5. Through training and consultancy services, they focus on the key skills needed to succeed within the changing nature of work, including flexible working and developing diverse teams.
Our guest speakers are:
Sue Unerman is Chief Transformation Officer at MediaCom, the largest media agency in the UK with over 200 clients. She is also the co-author of the bestselling book, The Glass Wall.
Kathryn Jacob OBE is CEO of Pearl and Dean, a cinema advertising company and co-author of the bestselling book, The Glass Wall.
Mark Edwards is a Sunday Times journalist and qualified mindfulness coach who trains businesses in diversity and inclusion as well as leadership.
