The Stanley Picker Creators Academy starts on 17 October - Over recent years we have seen a global rise in new types of creative working environments. These range anywhere between co-working and creative office hub spaces to the large-scale workplaces of media organisations such as Google and Facebook. Collaboration, Sharing and Community, are the working values that are reconsidered as part of the Stanley Picker Creators Academy (SPCA). The gallery space will includes different zones for working such as fast Internet connection, booths for meeting and conference calling, brainstorming stations together with areas for relaxing and socialising.
This therefore seems like the perfect environment to explore Kingston's workspace options with the local business community. Andrew Sherville, Kingston Councils lead officer for business community & workspace will introduce the new workspace facility plans for Kingston. This will be an incubation centre for new businesses and entrepreneurs combined with workspace for more established small businesses. The target date for launch is Spring 2017 in a temporary building (Argyll House). The final home of the workspace The Exchange@Kingston will be located in the old Telephone Exchange in the town centre and offer 100 workspaces and flexible incubation space for new business start-ups, with meeting rooms, superfast broadband, and specialist equipment.
Come along to find out more about SPCA and The Exchange@Kingston followed by drinks and networking.
