Description of event

How will L&D evolve in a post pandemic world with virtual learning, flexible working, distributed teams, AI all changing workplace culture. In this interactive session David will explore three elements to consider meeting current and future organisation, customer and employee demands:

  • what is the purpose of L&D
  • thinking on strategy and leading the function (regardless of job title)
  • impact, engagement and transfer - where is your focus and your opportunity

He will weave in latest CIPD research and insights as well as creating a take-away menu for you

Objectives

Raise the importance of L&D as a strategic role in organisation development, talent management, and workplace performance.

Expected outcomes

Launch the new branch in-person events raised awareness of L&D strategy and operations.

Speaker Brief

David Hayden, CIPD Digital Learning Portfolio Manager.

Learning and Development Professional and Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, David is Passionate about CPD and moving the profession forward. He Continues to play a key role in the Institute's professional development portal and content. Digital, blended, face-to-face each play a role in the mix of linking L&D and organisational performance and David Works with individuals and companies to define L&D direction and content. He is also a very proud co-author of "Learning and Development in the Workplace".

The CIPD West Yorkshire Branch provides opportunities for its members to network with local HR and L& D professionals,

Embracing Championing Better Work and Working Lives, our programme of events promotes development and networking e.g. updates on employment law, skills development for the CIPD Profession Map and CPD supporting upgrading.

Our events are organised through two geographical groups, Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes, together with our special interest groups Learning Matters and Mentoring scheme.
