Event description

Description

Gaelic language and culture underpins almost everything we see around us in large parts of Scotland. Join us at Crieff Gaelic Day to explore Gaelic and the Landscape with Author John Murray.

John Murray is a former Director of Landscape Architecture at Edinburgh University his first book Reading the Gaelic Landscape was published in 2014 providing an insight into the Gaelic language in the Scottish landscape. In his latest book Literature of the Gaelic Landscape the author has immersed himself further in the Gaelic literature of place so that readers, with book in hand, can make the past come alive and appreciate the extracts about a place and what has happened there.

This talk will also explore links to the local area.

You can also join us throughout the day for a mix of Gaelic language tasters, workshops and a free concert following the talk with BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award winner Mischa Macpherson.
