The Galaxicle Implosions S0E5
Date and time
An animated sci-fi comedy series performed live by actors in a theatre, broadcast to VR and YouTube, and co-created by you, its audience!
About this event
The Galaxicle Implosions is an innovative and ambitious project blending technology, improvisation, animation, interaction and music to create five episodes of an animated sci-fi comedy series that will be performed live simultaneously in front of three separate audiences (VR, in-theatre and YouTube). Crikey!
The series tells the story of the Worldship Beyartha as it struggles to escape the Great Suck, a black hole that has swallowed the Earth and is steadily consuming the rest of the Universe, with the last of humanity asleep on board in the ship's hold.
It stars the following legends as the ship's crew (in alphabetical order): Chris Mead as Biscuit, Jon Nguyen as Son Trang, Katy Schutte as Doctor Fleischman and Lucy Trodd as Faith Lightship. They will also be joined from Canada by Vinny Francois as TOK the ship's computer , who will be cloned in our YouTube chat window by Fiona Howat, as well as a special guest VR audience member from somewhere on Earth.
We would love you to join our in-theatre test audience for one (or more) episodes in the first prototype series during late January 2022, specifically the 20th, 22nd, 25th, 27th and 29th. Tickets are FREE but please only book them if you are reasonably serious about coming, as capacity is very limited.
Our team has been working on the show for most of 2021 and it is, we believe, already a fascinating and entertaining one: it is also utilising a lot of cutting edge technology in various ground-breaking ways, so please come with an open mind and be prepared for the odd glitch.
Re our friend COVID, all our cast and team will be taking lateral flow tests before each performance (and obviously not attending if they are positive), we will be asking all attendees for vaccine passports on the door, and our well-ventilated studio theatre space will be at 50% capacity so there will be plenty of room to be socially distant.
We’d love to have you join our mission - see you on board!
