A live music celebration of 10 years since London 2012 with special guests Alistair Griffin, Barnes Concert Band & The Pandemonium Drummers.

About this event

Unbelievably, 2022 marks 10 years since the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games where our unique choir started life.

It's been quite the adventure. For the last ten years, The Games Maker Choir has been lucky enough to perform at some of the nation's most iconic events and venues - from Twickenham to Wembley, Rugby World Cups to World Athletics Championships. Made up of sporting volunteers, we are The Choir for Sport.

To celebrate this special year we are holding an anniversary concert in central London. We would love you to join us in the city where it all began.

Accompanied and with a performance by the talented Barnes Concert Band, we will be joined by fabulous singer songwriter Alistair Griffin and the fantastic Pandemonium Drummers from the iconic London 2012 Opening Ceremony.

A paid bar and commemorative merchandise will also be available.

We look forward to seeing you!

Barnes Concert Band is a community wind band attracting woodwind, brass and percussion players across South West London. Formed in the early 1970s, it has grown to almost 40 members and under its Musical Director, Daryle Lowden, it performs regularly in the Barnes Music Festival, summer bandstand concerts at Regents Park, Barnes Fair, Christmas events and community occasions such as Remembrance Sunday.

Our repertoire stretches from film music, to west-end shows and well-known musicals as well as classical music repertoire, light-classics and music for wind band by celebrated contemporary composers. It’s fair to say we enjoy all kinds of music and love to perform for our growing audience.

The Band has undertaken collaborations with Barnes Community Choir, All Saints Choir at East Sheen and large charity concerts especially with FISH, a local charity and their choir and professional singers, and most recently a Platinum Jubilee concert.

Performing with the Games Maker Choir is a new venture for the Band and we are absolutely delighted to be celebrating their 10th Anniversary in a special concert.
