THE GEOMETRICS NATURAL YELLOWS WORKSHOP
Explore the art of geometric shibori techniques with textile design expert Dr Emma Neuberg and learn how to create these yourself using homegrown natural dyes. Learn to make geometric resist patterns with stitch techniques in silk, wool and pre-loved synthetics and create your own golden shibori swatchbook and a silk scarf to take home.
You can also join us live online if you're not in London - it's easy as we use Google+ Hangout. We just call you up on your computer or iPad five minutes before class (all you need is a Google+ account) and it's like interactive TV. Please email us your gmail address once you've purchased your ticket .
Materials, refreshments and a Slow Textiles Infopack to help you discover more and develop your skills beyond the day are provided. Do remember to bring a USB stick with you just in case you need to take some digital files home.
This event is open to everyone at all levels!
As part of our unique teaching structure, we integrate Practical, Sustainable, Material and Immaterial qualities into each class to encourage depth learning while making the experience valuable, applicable and highly actionable so that you can use what you learn in real life and be really good!
If you like craft, design, fashion, textiles, sustainability and print as a career, passion, interest, profession or are just curious, then this is for you!
When you arrive at the blue front door of the Kingsgate Workshops Trust large Victorian warehouse (114 Kingsgate Road, London NW6 2JG), please ring buzzer 'A' and one of the Slow Textiles team will come down to greet you. Please aim to arrive 15mins before class so that we may run on time.
We specialise in sustainable development systems for the fashion, textiles and related design industries.
