Event description

Description

An hour of comedy and capers for all of the family. Georgian actress Mistress Slurp needs your help finding the perfect prescription for pimples and pox. Join in our family treasure hunt discovering ingredients for Slurp’s remedies, or simply sit back and enjoy the show exploring the surprising secrets of eighteenth-century remedies. Delivered with the assistance of a team of academics from Northumbria University's Leverhulme-funded Writing Doctors project.

This event is part of the Being Human festival, the UK’s only national festival of the humanities, taking place 14–23 November. For further information please see beinghumanfestival.org.

Please note: If you are no longer able to come please contact us so that we can reallocate your ticket. As our festival events are free, not everyone who asks for tickets comes to our events. To make sure we have a full house, we allocate more tickets than there are seats. We do our best to get the numbers right, but unfortunately we occasionally have to disappoint people. Admission is on a first-come-first-served basis, so please arrive in good time for the start of the event.
