The Ghosts behind the Stones - A living literature event by Scary Little Girls, inspired by Asthall Manor and on form

Scary Little Girls has devised a piece to celebrate the history of Asthall Manor, from its beginnings in the 1600s to its life as a World War I convalescent home; its inspirational role in the development of the outrageous Mitford family to its re-creation now as on form, the celebrated exhibition of sculpture in stone.

Small groups of up to 20 will set off at twenty minute intervals along a special route around the house, gardens and river, and performers from Scary Little Girls will bring the heart and heritage of this unique environment alive through the work of writers such as Aphra Behn, Andrew Marvell, George Eliot, E. Nesbit, Wilfred Owen and of course Nancy Mitford. Event lasts 1 hour 20 minutes. Please dress for British weather with sensible footwear.
