About this event
Discover the art of collage in this workshop led by artist Meg Fatharly in collaboration with Daisy Dawnay, writer and founder of The Gimlet Eye. This hands-on event encourages you to spend the summer making a collection and noticing what you’re drawn to. We’ll meet up in September for a making session to create a beautiful collage, a memory of summer 2025.

What You’ll Learn
- The Basics of Collage: Master the foundational techniques
- Creative Design Tips: Explore methods for creating collage, with guidance from Meg’s experience as a printmaker, artist and designer.
- Seasonal Inspiration: Use summer themes, including nature-inspired motifs, to create personalized, handcrafted collage.
What to bring
- Found materials (paper, fabric, newspaper cut-outs, shells, pressed flowers, string, ribbons, tickets – whatever you like)
- Photos (they could be passport sized or black and white)
- Have a particular view or scene in mind from the summer

About the Instructors
Meg Fatharly is a UK-based artist known for her expertise in surface manipulation and texture. Her work, inspired by nature and intricate design, has been showcased in collaborations with top institutions like the V&A.
Daisy Dawnay is a writer specialising in decorative art, craft and interiors. She contributes to the FT, World of Interiors and Air Mail. She recently launched The Gimlet Eye, a new community for the decorative arts.
