At a tender age, when Jacqueline should be playing with her friends, she must face birth, death, and the pressures of keeping the home fires burning. As Jacqueline becomes a rebellious teenager, she discovers boys, cigarettes and rock ‘n’ roll, before facing the challenges of growing up and choosing her own path in life.
A wonderful tale based on the writer’s own childhood. Perfect for fans of Catherine Cookson and Call the Midwife.
